2 Trade Targets the Dallas Cowboys Should Pursue Right Now…

The Dallas Cowboys tied up loose ends with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb seemingly moments before Week 1 kicked off. However, roster construction never ends.

After a weaker offseason than many were hoping for, Jerry Jones has an opportunity to bolster the team while live bullets are flying. He has traded for big names in the past (Amari Cooper, for example).

Here’s a look at two names worth targeting for the Cowboys before the trade deadline.

Derrick Henry, RB

If the Baltimore Ravens are in for a rough season after an 0-2 start, there is no reason for them to keep Derrick Henry around. Now on the plus side of 30, Henry’s final season could be any year now. This wouldn’t be a trade that could happen for at least the next month, but a trade deadline snag of the running back would be clutch for Jones.

Currently, the Cowboys’ running back room is running on the last fumes of Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle, who has been a depth piece in the past. Adding Henry in the middle of the season would inject some adrenaline into a transaction list lacking arguably any big new names this season.

Kenneth Walker III, RB

The Dallas Cowboys’ biggest offensive hole is at running back. If they can’t get Henry, the Seattle Seahawks might be willing to part with Kenneth Walker III.

Zach Charbonnet has proven he can play quite well, and considering Walker’s injury troubles, the Seahawks might be willing to do business.

This wouldn’t be a trade that could take place until Walker heals, but the groundwork for such a move could be carried out in the next few weeks, should Jones wish to get Prescott a de facto bonus to go with his massive new salary.
