Places You Must Visit Once in a Lifetime

The 2020 Agora Landscape Photography Contest offers a variety of stunning nature images, from terrifying lightning strikes to mesmerizing shots of tiny humans overwhelmed by the majesty of nature.

Agora is a free photography app that regularly organizes photography contests on various topics. Recently, Agora organized the 2020 landscape photography contest.

The contest will run from June 19 to July 3 and will encourage photographers to share images they have taken of beautiful landscapes around the world.

In total, 14,739 photographs were sent. Contest judges selected 50 finalists. Agora users were then asked to vote for the winner.

Ganó la fotografía “Sorprendido por la luna llena en Goblin Valley” del fotógrafo Luke Simpson.

First prize in this year’s landscape contest went to an extremely “modern” photograph of a man standing in front of a magnificent full moon. Australian photographer Luke Simpson says the photo was completely spontaneous, when he and a friend saw this magical moment while hiking through Goblin Valley in the US.

Photographer Simpson said this was a completely unplanned scene during his trip. Selected from nearly 15,000 entries, Simpson’s photograph earned her $15,000 in prizes.

Among the 50 most beautiful photographs of this award, there is a photo that surprised many people of the Chu Dang Ya volcano in Gia Lai, Vietnam, taken by photographer Hoa Carol. This place is currently fertile land for farmers to cultivate. Photographer Hoa Carol said: “This extinct volcano is one of the most beautiful destinations in central Vietnam.”

“Cueva de Piedra” del fotógrafo ruso Pavel Tokarev.

Another striking photograph by Russian photographer Pavel Tokarev offers a rare glimpse of the ice caves of Lake Baikal in southern Siberia. Photographer Tokarev said the caves here can only be visited for a short time each year, when the lake freezes.

“In summer you can’t get to the caves even by boat. The only way in is to wait for winter, when all the water freezes. Once there, you can get there on foot. There was ice everywhere, ice hanging from the ceiling and running along the walls. It feels like there is a sheet of glass spread across the floor,” Tokarev said.

Belgium-based photographer Olivier Vandeginste captured this scene in Zeebrugge. He said: “I went to the beach to take pictures of the fireworks festival, but a storm came up. On the left you can see the port of Zeebrugge with many wind turbines and in the background you can see that nature produces electricity with lightning.

“These colorful mud mounds I found while traveling through Utah looked like something from Mars. “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” said photographer Theo.

“Barco en una tormenta” del fotógrafo Subhash Panikar.

Panikar’s photograph shows a boat sailing under dark clouds during a storm, taken in Thailand.

“Atardecer mágico” del fotógrafo Brian TR.

This nominated image was taken by Brian TR in the French commune of Valensole. She depicts a woman walking through rows of lavender flowers towards a pink sky and tall silhouettes of trees.

“Desierto de la Tatacoa” de Jan Meyer.

The image shows the landscape of Colombia’s Tatacoa Desert as a bird flies across a cloudy sky.

La fotógrafa Pamela Plaza, de México, está detrás de esta extraordinaria fotografía del glaciar Tutoko en Nueva Zelanda.

Pamela Plaza said: “The image of solitude in a vast and majestic landscape symbolizes how important humans are on this planet. However, how much influence do we have over life and its consequences?

The photo was taken in the Whitsunday Islands of Australia. Belgian photographer Johan Vandenhecke said: “This place is so cool. It is only accessible by boat, so we slept on a boat in a nearby bay so we could get here in the morning.”

“Creación de la Madre Naturaleza” de Ilaria Ronchi.

Photographer Ilaria Ronchi, Italian but living in the Netherlands, captured this impressive photograph in the Namib Desert. She said: “This photo is really precious to me. “I just remember how overwhelmed I was being surrounded by nature’s perfect sand creations.”
