Jason Kelce says his “loving relationship” with his brother is appreciated by the listeners of the New Heights Podcast

“We’re honest with each other. And it comes across,” Jason said

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce are brotherhood goals.

During ESPN’s media day on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the retired NFL star turned Monday Night Countdown analyst, 36, discussed how his “loving relationship” with his younger brother Travis has allowed their New Heights podcast to succeed.

“I think on the podcast, you get, first of all, an organic, loving relationship between two brothers. We’re honest with each other. And it comes across,” said Jason. “And we have good personalities that I think generally audience members appreciate, and like to want to watch and listen to, which I don’t know if I agree fully with that, but they’re there.”

The Kelce brothers premiered the third season of their podcast on Wednesday after signing a three-year deal worth $100 million with Amazon’s podcast studio Wondery.

While speaking about what he believes drives people to tune in, Jason said, “I think that we’re very, very open people by nature, and I think that we share things, and we obviously are living exciting lives that people want to follow. And then all that stuff helps … because the more people watch, the more money advertisers spend.”

He plans to incorporate his experience as a podcast host into his new role at ESPN by being “authentically myself.”

“I think that I’m going to try and carry that same level of authenticity I’ve had in my podcast, really my whole life, throughout being a player,” he said.

“I think that people appreciate that. They can tell when you’re trying to sell them a used car or not,” continued Jason. “And I think for me, that’s my biggest thing that I think will help me have success as well as putting the work in and preparing.”

His new job is something his wife, Kylie Kelce, recently told PEOPLE she’s sure he will “excel” at.

“I jokingly say it’s a pain in the butt that he’s good at everything, and I know I’m biased in that, but I truly believe he’s good at everything because even if he’s not good at the start or the best at the start,” she told PEOPLE.

“He will work, endlessly and tirelessly until he can achieve that. So, I have full faith that he’s going to tackle his new position and excel,” continued Kylie.

The 2024 NFL season kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 5, with the first Monday Night Football game set for Monday, Sept. 9.
