VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes Screwed Bettors Everywhere With His Ridiculous Late-Game Antics vs. Falcons That Costed Everyone A Ton Of Money

Patrick Mahomes lines up under center for the Chiefs vs. the Falcons.

Patrick Mahomes hurt a lot of people on Sunday, and it was more than just the folks inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium cheering on the Atlanta Falcons.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Falcons went head to head on September 22, and the score was 22-17.

Following a failed attempt on fourth down for the Falcons, all the Chiefs had to do was kneel down to end the game. However, because of the time remaining, Patrick Mahomes had to waste a few seconds before doing so, which meant he had to go further backward.

Mahomes took over with 51 seconds left on the clock, and Atlanta had just two timeouts. All he had to do was take three kneel-downs, and the game was over.

Bettors have had quarterback rushing props go from winning tickets to losers in such scenarios in the past, so many had Mahomes rushing yards in this game.

Patrick Mahomes’ 30 rushing yards on the day were way more than the set line of 19.5.

Then, disaster struck in the worst way.

Patrick Mahomes had to dance around in the backfield on all three snaps to ensure enough time would run out.

His first kneel-down went for a loss of five yards. The second one went for four, and the third was the same.

Add it all up, and the three kneel-downs combined for -13 yards.

His rushing yards went from 30 to 17, which resulted in the worst bad beat of the year.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Feels’ I Haven’t Played Very Well’

Despite winning Sunday night to move his Kansas City Chiefs to 3-0 to open the season, quarterback Patrick Mahomes still hasn’t looked like himself.

Mahomes was 26-of-39 for 217 yards and two touchdowns. He also had an interception.

Mahomes has managed to maintain a 69.6 passer completion rate and has passed for 659 yards and five touchdowns but has thrown for five interceptions and has also allowed four sacks.

“I’ll speak especially offensively to me, myself. I feel like I haven’t played very well, and that’s not a stats thing,” Mahomes said via the team’s official transcript. “I just feel like I’m missing opportunities whenever they’re out there and not throwing the ball in the exact spot I want it to be at. So, it’s about me getting back to my fundamentals, putting our guys in the right position, and then we’ve got to execute at a higher level offensively. If teams are going to make us drive the field, we have to prove that we’re able to do that, and I’m sure we’ll get a lot of the same this next week with the Chargers.”
