Shocking details have emerged on the back of reports claiming that Dan Campbell has been forced to put his house up for sale.
The Detroit Lions head coach was forced to change residences after his address was leaked online the night the team lost the NFC Championship game to the San Francisco 49ers in January.
Rober Snell of The Detroit News has shed some more light, revealing that there were serious concerns over the wellbeing of Campbell’s teenage daughter, who was at the house watching the game while he and his wife were in San Francisco.
In a strange twist, the coach’s address was shared by one of his daughter’s male classmates, who put it into circulation after someone posted it on Snapchat and referred to Campbell as a “dumb f**k.”
“There were at least four police reports involving Campbell’s home,” Snell writes. “Starting with New Year’s Eve 2023 and continuing until days after the Lions blew a 17-point lead in the National Football Conference championship game in late January.
“The reports describe a series of unwanted visitors, phone calls and a social media post that shared his home address. The incidents scared Campbell’s teenage daughter, prompting the involvement of the Lions and National Football League security officials and raising long-term concerns from Campbell’s wife, Holly Campbell, about the family’s security.

“After the Jan. 28 loss to the 49ers, someone posted the Campbell family address on Snapchat and called the coach a “dumb f—.” The post was shared by one of the daughter’s male classmates.”

Dan Campbell Wouldn’t Allow His Daughter To Stay Home
An investigator noted that people and vehicles did show up at Campbell’s residence but were warded off by his daughter’s boyfriend. Campbell also asked them to leave the house for the night, with police also offering a patrol team.
“Vehicles and people did show up outside their residence but did not necessarily enter the property,” they wrote. “The boyfriend went outside in his vehicle and flashed his headlights at anyone approaching causing these people to turn off and leave.
“The Campbells were nervous for the safety of their daughter and instructed her to leave the home with her boyfriend for the evening. I assured the Campbells that we would send a patrol unit to the home and extra-patrol it for the evening.”
The incident was serious enough to get the Campbells to put the property up for sale.
It’s sad that a head coach has to worry about the safety of his daughter and his home because of a football game, but it’s always better to err on the side of caution in such cases.
