The WNBA ignores Caitlin Clark in the playoffs and fans won’t forgive it: This is like the NBA shutting out Michael Jordan

Fans are expressing frustration as it seems the WNBA may be downplaying the impact of Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark. Clark has delivered an extraordinary rookie season, posting impressive averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. Along the way, she has shattered multiple rookie records and drawn record-breaking audiences both in arenas and on TV, solidifying her status as one of the league’s brightest new talents. Despite her standout performances, many believe her achievements deserve more recognition from the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark, the superstar rookie, is set to be one of the biggest draws of the WNBA postseason, with her sixth-seed Indiana Fever facing off against the third-seed Connecticut Sun in the first round. However, many fans were left disappointed when the WNBA released a postseason graphic on social media featuring eight players, and surprisingly, Clark was nowhere to be seen. Given her breakout season and undeniable star power, fans felt that the omission was a major oversight, sparking frustration across social media.

Kelsey Mitchell was selected ahead of Clark, who did have an excellent season, but she still doesn’t have the superstardom of her rookie teammate.

One fan wrote: “Attendance way up, arenas sold out and you leave off the player responsible for the success? Bravo.” Another wrote: “The fact that Clark isn’t on this graphic should prove to everyone that WNBA is jealous of her success.”

The strategy has been questioned by many on social media, but this could be a case of the WNBA trying to raise the profiles of other players given Clark‘s obvious dominance in the PR world.

Asked about her fame recently, Clark said: “I don’t know, I mean, I still, I don’t feel famous, like I don’t feel like a celebrity. So, that’s not the way I approach my life and I approach people in my life.”

She added: “I don’t even have a moment to breathe and really understand what’s going on at times.”
