A curious social media post from Arch Manning suggests that the Texas Longhorns quarterback is getting ready to make way for Quinn Ewers after starting in his last two outings.
Manning has played in three games this season. He came on for an injured Ewers against UTSA before being named the starter in fixtures against Louisiana-Monroe and Mississippi State. He fired Texas to victories in all three of those games.
Over the three-game span, Manning has registered 900 yards, nine touchdowns, and two INTs on 70.5 percent completion. He has also made 13 carries for 82 yards and three scores, showing a side to his game no one knew he was packing.
Of course, his time out on the field hasn’t been perfect, but he’s left little doubt that he can carry this Longhorns team once Ewers moves on next year.
With the program heading into a bye week, it doesn’t seem like Arch expects to be in the lineup when they return to action. He has taken to Instagram to post some photos of himself playing in games and enjoying moments with his family, captioning them “Fun few weeks” as if to suggest his time under center is coming to an end.

Arch Manning Knows He’s Not Going To Be QB1 Until 2025
Meanwhile, head coach Steve Sarkisian has already made it clear that Ewers will return to his QB1 role once he’s able to contribute again. This wouldn’t have come as a surprise to Manning, who was well aware of his place in the pecking order before the injury.
“I think he’s been making steady progress one day to the next, which is a good sign,” he was recently quoted as saying, per Sports Illustrated. “We haven’t had any setbacks. It’s been steady progress. I think he’s getting stronger and more comfortable and more confident, and so we’ll just kind of stay the course with that.”
Ewers was a late scratch ahead of Texas’ last outing but is likely to be ready by the time they’re ready to play rivals Oklahoma.
He’s going to be looking forward to having a fun few weeks himself after watching Arch Manning ball out in his absence.
