Caitlin Clark Unrivaled offer ‘to copy Lionel Messi’s huge $150million Inter Miami deal

Conservative sports commentator Jason Whitlock has given another opinion to  star , this time telling her to not play in the upstart Unrivaled basketball league.

Whitlock’s thoughts on the new 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league in the United States are clear, as she called it ‘the dumbest idea that I’ve ever heard.’

Clark has yet to commit to the league that begins play in January, while many other of the WNBAs biggest stars have signed on.

Whitlock has been hot and cold with his criticism of Clark, and her biggest on-court rival, Angel Reese.

Now, it appears Whitlock is in the mood to help someone who will likely never listen to his advice.

‘Caitlin, please do everything in your power, avoid the Unrivaled basketball league,’ Whitlock said. ‘It’s a disaster in the making. You don’t want to be associated with it.’

‘The league is not going to work. People have no interest in watching women play 3-on-3 basketball. It’s a dumb idea. It’s controlled opposition, it’s a gimmick to stop Caitlin Clark and anyone else from launching a true competitor to the WNBA. They don’t want rivals.’

The league will play for more than one season, as it signed UConn’s Paige Bueckers to an NIL deal, guaranteeing she will participate in Unrivaled once her college eligibility is expired.

Clark has not made a public comment about the league since stating her indifference to playing in it after the Indiana Fever’s season ended last month.

None of her Fever teammates have signed on to participate in the league, which has publicly announced 26 of the 30 athletes that will play in Unrivaled.

The league has a television deal with TNT Sports that should give it a necessary boost in interest despite Whitlock’s opinion.

Should Clark not play in Unrivaled, it is likely she will not touch the basketball court again until the next WNBA season.
