REPORT: Rising College Football Star Found Dead By His Teammates In His Dorm At Age 18

The sports world is mourning the tragic death of Kevon Walker.

The 18-year-old college football player was found dead in his central Pennsylvania dormitory this week.

Walker, a freshman defensive lineman at St. Francis University, was reportedly found in his bed by teammates, according to WJACTV.com.

Friends and family are now waiting for a pending toxicology report as police hope it will help determine his cause of death.

“The entirety of the department is heartbroken over the tragic and untimely loss of Kevon,” St. Francis Athletic Director James Downer said in a statement. “Although his time at St. Francis was short, he made a positive impact on the football program, was well-liked and respected among the team, and showed the promise of a very bright future with the Red Flash. Our sincere thoughts and condolences are with Kevon’s family, loved ones, teammates, and coaches during this incredibly challenging time.”

Authorities say there is no evidence of foul play.

Authorities say he had reportedly been “feeling ill” in recent days, according to Kevon Walker’s teammates.

According to deputy coroner Joe Hribar, the Cambria County coroner’s office and state police are conducting the investigation.

The Outpouring of Grief Displayed After Suddened Death of Kevon Walker

There has been an outpouring of grief after Kevon Walker was tragically found deceased in his dorm room due to unknown reasons.

Walker, who graduated from Canisius in June, passed away while attending Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania.

Saint Francis University canceled classes on Tuesday so students could attend a mass to remember Walker.

‘Please Pray for my Family,’ Walker’s aunt, Ruby White, wrote on Facebook. ‘We lost a great, inspiring young man. R.I.P Nephew.

White signed off by writing: ‘I Love You [and] you will truly be missed.’

Canisius High School in Buffalo, New York, where he previously attended, mourned him as well.

“Kevon was a larger-than-life presence in so many ways in our building,” said Principal Tom Coppola ’01 in a Facebook post. “His graduation from Canisius High School was such a great day for he and his family, it was awesome on that day to see him so proud. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”

Kevon Walker had just attended a game at Canisius in September and assisted the team in the locker room and on the sidelines.
