They are battling for a third Super Bowl in a row, in what would be a first in the history of the NFL.

The Chiefs have had a dominant start to the 2024-25 season, going an unbeaten 7-0.

There had been fears Reid may retiree in the not-to-distant future.

He is 66-years-old and has a growing family, with a number of grandchildren.

In 2021, Reid, who is on $20m a year, fell ill following a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

He was hospitalized with dehydration, causing many to speculate it may be time for him to step away.

The veteran HC decided to stay, and has been fighting fit ever since.

He does not drink or smoke, and works around the years on all things football.

And Chiefs owner, CEO and chairman Clark Hunt has revealed all over Reid’s future plans.

He told ESPN he has “no sense” of his head coach retiring “any time soon”.

And Hunt confirmed that Reid could “absolutely” be the Chiefs leader for the next five years.

“He certainly seems rejuvenated,” said Hunt.

“I would say, by the success of the team in the last few years and having one of the most special quarterbacks of all time.

“I have no sense that he has any interest in retiring any time soon, which is fantastic.

“But I think any leader needs to be thinking about succession.

“Eventually that day will come.”

The Chiefs are continuing their plan to dominate the NFL, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The 29-year-old is in the midst of a $450,000 million contract, which runs until 2031.

They are almost certain to rework that deal, to increase his salary.

He is on a low pay compared to other QBs in the league, but gets bigger bonuses and incentives.
