BREAKING: Patrick Mahomes Added To Chiefs’ Injury Report On Thursday

The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a perfect start this season, winning all seven of their first seven games in the 2024 campaign.

The two-time defending Super Bowl champions haven’t been at their best this season, but they’ve done enough to leave with a win against every team on their schedule so far.

Some may say that it’s easy to accomplish this when you have a two-time MVP at quarterback, and few would argue that Patrick Mahomes isn’t the best in the league.

As everything continues to go well for Chiefs Kingdom, the team raised eyebrows on Thursday when they added their star quarterback to the injury report.

Mahomes was a full participant at practice for the Chiefs on Thursday, but he popped up on the report with an ankle injury.

He wasn’t the only notable player on Thursday’s report, as the three-time Super Bowl MVP joined several teammates.

Running back Kareem Hunt was limited on Thursday with a quad injury, while defensive lineman Mike Danna was limited for personal reasons. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Nazeeh Johnson and Ethan Driskell did not practice.

Star corner Trent McDuffie was a full participant despite his knee injury, as was linebacker Drue Tranquill, who had a chest issue.

The Chiefs will look for their third 8-0 start in franchise history, and their first since 2013 when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.

Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs.

The Bucs enter after a hard-fought loss to the Atlanta Falcons, a loss that dropped them out of the lead in the NFC South. There’s a lot of football left to play this season, and there’s plenty of time for the Buccaneers to get into the division race, but they’ll have to overcome being swept by the Falcons in order to do it.

The Chiefs are the league’s final undefeated team, and that means the 1972 Dolphins are still waiting to pop the champagne. Since their undefeated season, the surviving members of the team gather each year with champagne to celebrate the last team to lose in the NFL.

We’ll see if they get together this year to celebrate a win by another Florida team that would end the Chiefs’ bid for a perfect season.
