Taylor Swift may have some competition for boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s attention—in the form of a custom-built man cave that the NFL player is reportedly installing underneath his $6 million Kansas City mansion.
According to DailyMail.com, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has already begun work on the 396-square-foot space, which will include a golf simulator.
Plans for the underground area reveal that builders will begin work by digging up the basement floor and lowering it by 2 feet in order to add more space to the final product, the outlet reports.
An employee at the Leawood Public Works Department confirmed to Realtor.com® that a “permit for [Kelce’s home] was filed two weeks ago for a remodel on an existing basement, two new drainage interiors and forming concrete walls.”
Kelce, 35, purchased his 17,000-square-foot Leawood, KS, mansion in 2023, shortly after he went public with his romance with Swift, 34, who has since been a regular visitor to the property.

The football pro scored a deal on the property. It was originally listed in September 2022 for $6.9 million, and Kelce is believed to have secured it for $900,000 less than the asking price.
The city of Leawood, which is located 20 minutes south of Arrowhead Stadium where the Chiefs play, is understood to have approved Kelce’s excavation, with reports indicating that a construction team was seen arriving at the property just this week.
While it’s unclear whether the pop star has approved of her boyfriend’s plans for his home, the news about Kelce’s new golf-themed space will likely come as a welcome surprise to his brother, Jason, as well as his teammate Patrick Mahomes, all of whom are avid golfers.
Just a few weeks ago, the Kelce brothers stole the show when they competed together in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, NV, where they were teamed up with pro wrestler Mike “The Miz” Mizanin.
The house features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a formal dining room, a media lounge, a wine cellar, and a full bar.
A beautiful pool sits outside alongside manicured lawns. Nearby there’s an outdoor kitchen, tennis and pickleball court, waterfall, hot tub, and miniature golf course.
Located inside a gated community, the grand estate sits on nearly 3.5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac. The mansion is far more secluded than his other home in Kansas City, a 4,200-square-foot mansion in the Briarcliff West neighborhood that he purchased for $995,000 in 2019.

Swift has paid several visits to the home since her relationship with Kelce began—while he has also been a guest at a number of her homes.
While Kelce’s property portfolio is relatively small, his girlfriend has bought and sold a number of homes over the years, and now boasts real estate holdings in several states.
The megastar owns two units in a luxury building in Nashville, TN, as well as a $2.5 million Greek Revival mansion in nearby Forest Hills.
In 2014, Swift bought two penthouses in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood.
She combined the 5,869-square-foot apartment bought for $14.85 million with a neighboring three-bedroom unit she snagged for $5.1 million. The result is a nine-bedroom, nine-bathroom megaresidence with wood-beamed ceilings, a dramatic curved staircase, and oversized windows.
She later bought a third unit in the building a few years later for $9.75 million, converting it to a garage so she can leave home in peace. She paid $18 million for the 5,000-square-foot townhouse, which serves as her private entrance.
Then, of course, there is her famous vacation home on Rhode Island, which she purchased for $17.75 million in 2013, and has since used as the site of many a July 4th celebration.
