Even though ‘The Eras Tour‘ and Taylor Swift’s recent songs have been wildly successful, she has just received one of the hardest blows she could have imagined: Donald Trump winning the U.S. Presidential Election.
It’s well-known that the famous artist was a supporter of Kamala Harris, and she made every effort to convince her American followers and fans to vote for the Democratic candidate in the 2024 election.
Swift voiced her support after her last concert in Indianapolis, where she publicly endorsed Harris once again. She has consistently used social media to express her views on this issue.
“And here’s a friendly but extremely important reminder that tomorrow is the US Election and your last chance to vote,” she wrote at the end of the caption.
One might think that, as the most famous and beloved artist in the U.S. right now, her political stance would resonate with the younger generations, those who follow her most closely. In reality, however, the influence she thought she held was not reflected in the election results.
Swift’s significant investment of time and energy in endorsing Kamala Harris effectively made her a political rival of Donald Trump, who did not hesitate to criticize the Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter. During one of his rallies, he openly stated that he “hated” the artist due to her active support of the Democratic candidate.
The tension between the two was highlighted even further when a banner supporting Trump flew over Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Miami, underscoring the strained relationship between them.
Travis Kelce, on the other hand, has stayed silent on the matter. Possibly recognizing the toxicity of political debate, he seems to have chosen to avoid the potential backlash by keeping his views private-a smart move by the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end.
Some fans speculate that Kelce may have voted for Harris, given Swift’s intense efforts to mobilize Democratic support among her followers. However, since he has never made any political statements, his choice remains entirely unknown.
Now that the dispute between Trump and Swift has concluded, it’s time for both to move on and focus on themselves-at least for another four years.
