NFL Announces A Very Familiar Host For The 2028 Super Bowl, And Fans Are Loving The Decision

Mercedes-Benz Stadium before Super Bowl LII

The NFL is constantly way ahead when planning locations for big events like the Super Bowl or the Draft. That’s why they have already announced that the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, will host the Super Bowl in 2028

Fans seemed to approve of the decision:

Of course, though, that’s still some time away as New Orleans, San Francisco, and Los Angeles are all still in line to host the next three big games.

This will be the second Super Bowl the stadium is set to host in just the last nine years, as LII was also played there between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.

Mercedes-Benz is also the home to major college football games such as the Peach Bowl, Celebration Bowl, SEC Championship Game, and the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game. It also hosted the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship against the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide.

The stadium is certainly considered one of the best venues the NFL has to offer, so it’s no surprise that it is frequently considered for Super Bowls.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium Opened in 2017

Construction on the stadium started in 2015 and took just two years to complete before it opened on Aug. 26, 2017.

It took a total of $1.6 billion to complete, which now ranks it as the most expensive NFL venue and was the most at the time of construction.

The maximum capacity it has reached for a football game was 79,330 for the 2022 Peach Bowl, which means there’s more than enough room for anyone to attend the Super Bowl if they want to and can afford it.

In 2023, tickets to the Super Bowl ranged from $6,000 to $27,500, which, if repeated at Mercedes-Benz, could result in a massive sales payday.
