In one of the last plays of the Packers’ and Eagles’ Week 1 matchup on Friday, Jordan Love had to be helped off the field after rolling his ankle under Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

It happened after Love pitched the ball to running back Josh Jacobs, and Carter pulled him down. In a close-up video, you can see his ankle roll under Carter and even see a slight knee pop that occurs for Love.

Many online immediately started accusing Carter of intentionally hurting Love.

“I’ve watched the tackle from Jalen Carter on Jordan Love about 50 times now. I’m telling you, Jalen Carter was doing absolutely everything in his power to try and break Loves leg. Disgustingly dirty tackle by just a terrible human being. Hope Love is ok,” one comment said.

Yeah I don’t using these words but this was downright dirty by jalen Carter. This dude clearly and I mean clearly watches love throw the ball in front of him then rolls up his ankle and knee,” another said.

Of course, though, it’s football, and sometimes injuries are part of the game, considering it’s such a physical sport.

The hate online for Carter got even more personal when people flooded his InstagramDMs with extremely hateful messages. He reposted some of the messages in a story with the caption, “Making a football play, wishing Jordan the best recovery!”

Almost all of them revolve around him supposedly hurting Love on purpose, and some even being racist. It doesn’t take long to see that some of these messages are highly inappropriate and unwarranted.
