Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Romeo Doubs has reportedly become so unhappy with his role in the offense that he decided to skip a practice.

Romeo Doubs, along with teammate and fellow wide receiver Christian Watson, have been listed as doubtful for Sunday’s Week 5 road game against the Los Angeles Rams. Watson is dealing with a sprained ankle, while Doubs is likely out because of a personal matter.

According to a report from Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated, Doubs missed practice on Thursday and Friday because he has become dissatisfied with his role on offense. Huber’s

“Green Bay Packers receiver Romeo Doubs skipped practice on Thursday and wasn’t present on Friday because he is upset with his opportunities in the passing game, sources told Packers On SI.

Because he didn’t practice the last two days, he is officially doubtful for Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Rams.

“It’s still day-to-day,” coach Matt LaFleur said after practice. Doubs practiced on Wednesday but didn’t show up on Thursday. Worried about Doubs’s well-being, team representatives found him at his home.”

Jayden Reed leads the Packers in receptions (17) and receiving yards (336). Reed and Dontayvion Wicks have gotten the most targets in the passing game (22), whereas Romeo Doubs has 20 targets (12 receptions, 169 yards).

Others on social media noted that Doubs erased all Packers photos and references from his Instagram page. His social media activity only adds to speculation that the third-year wideout is indeed unhappy with his role on offense.

The Packers drafted Doubs in the fourth round (132nd overall) in 2022. The best season of his young career game in 2023, when Doubs caught 59 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns.

Romeo Doubs Could End Up Requesting A Trade

If Doubs is simply unhappy with the amount of targets he’s getting in Green Bay, then a trade may be the only way to please him. He’s on a Green Bay offense that likes distributing the ball to all of its weapons (Reed, Doubs, Watson, Wicks, Luke Musgrave and Josh Jacobs), a big difference from the Aaron Rodgers unit that relied too much on Davante Adams.

Green Bay isn’t going to change its offense just to keep Doubs happy, so it’ll be interesting to see how things play out here.
