REPORT: New Injury Update For Cowboys Superstar Micah Parsons Confirms The Terrible News That Many Initially Feared

Micah Parsons in Cowboys gear

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons’ status is uncertain following an injury suffered against the New York Giants on Thursday night.

America’s Team picked up an away win against NY to go 2-2 on the night, but fans aren’t all that happy with the victory. The Giants remained close despite only scoring field goals the entire game.

The contest proved tough to watch, given its sloppy nature and the number of flags thrown, but Cowboys fans will especially hate it as Parsons was carted off with an ankle injury that could cause him to miss time.

It initially appeared that Parsons had sustained a knee injury after he rolled around in pain after his leg was rolled up from the back. Thankfully, that was not the case, but given the results of his MRI, he could be out for a few weeks.

“My understanding is the initial diagnosis was a high-ankle sprain,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said on ‘Good Morning Football’ this Friday. “He’s going to get an MRI today. When he was talking to reporters, did not provide much of an update … Generally high-ankle sprains are 4-6 weeks, but if this is a less severe high-ankle sprain then perhaps he will miss less time. “

Ian Rapoport Confirms Micah Parsons Has Suffered A High-Ankle Sprain

Rapoport has since confirmed the player is dealing with a high-ankle sprain in his left foot, and his status is “to be determined.”

While avoiding a knee injury is indeed fortunate, the high-ankle sprain is likely to cause him to miss multiple games.

Still, the Cowboys’ schedule could accommodate such an injury. Parsons will have 10 days to rest before their fixture against the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday. They will also have to face the Detroit Lions after Pittsburgh but have a bye week after that game.

The player is said to have experienced difficulty walking as of Friday morning. But he will be allowed to return to the lineup once he can plant and explode off the foot.
