Due to inclement weather caused by Hurricane Helene, the Denver Broncos were forced to relocate their Friday practice to an indoor tennis court.
Per Mike Klis of 9News, lightning in the forecast forced the Denver Broncos to move practice from the luxurious Greenbrier Resort (in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia) to the venue’s indoor pickleball and tennis courts.
Denver was practicing at an artificial turf, but the weather forecast made head coach Sean Payton call an audible. Instead, the Broncos got to enjoy the warm conditions of an indoor location before they hit the road for Sunday’s road game against the Denver Broncos.
“At first we did and then the change was made relative to the lightning forecast,” Payton said, per Klis. “I kind of like it. I didn’t realize they had this facility.”
According to multiple reports, more than 40 people have tragically died as a result of Hurricane Helene in the states of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia. Multiple airports and schools have been shut down due to the hurricane.

Currently, there’s no indicator that the Denver Broncos-New York Jets game or any other NFL contests may have to be relocated or postponed because of Hurricane Helene.

The Broncos will try to pull off another Sunday surprise when they visit Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. The Jets have won two straight games following their ugly Week 1 road loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
