Robert Saleh was 20-36 as coach of the Jets, who are trying to snap the NFL’s longest active playoff drought, which has lasted 13 seasons.

With his firing, he makes history as this is the first time in owner Woody Johnson’s 25-year tenure that a head coach has been fired during the season.

This sudden move comes one day after Robert Saleh said he was confident Aaron Rodgers and the Jets would be able to turn things around after losing two straight, which included a 23-17 loss to undefeated Minnesota on Sunday in London.

That was easily Aaron Rodgers’ worst game as a member of the Jets.

Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh needs a job.

The New York Jets have suffered a disappointing start to the 2024 season and decided to make a big change when they fired the head coach on Tuesday.

Hired ahead of the 2021 season, Saleh was a highly sought-after candidate after years of coaching the San Francisco 49ers defense to an elite level.

He is still a hell of a defensive coach, so he is unlikely to remain unemployed for long.

If a team fires that DC this year, you could very well see Saleh in that open spot.
