The debut of the UFC under the Las Vegas Sphere officially marks the first live sporting event to be hosted under the Sphere marking a significant change in the future of sporting events that could influence many major event owners and production leads to realign their views towards the Las Vegas Sphere.

Dana White expressed a lot of excitement before the start of the event in an interview with The Associated Press prior to the opening of the event with “It’s the first time that entertainment and sports truly come together. I think the Sphere and what we’re doing (Saturday) is going to make some of these venues change their vision and how they build them.

Owned by Sphere Entertainment Co., the immersive, technologically advanced venue in Las Vegas features a 160,000-square-foot interior screen, which UFC took advantage of to enhance the fan experience with immersive visuals and mind-blowing thematic content.

After an explosive evening in the sphere, reports are coming in stating a record-breaking number of ticket sales exceeding $22 million in gate receipts officially breaking the long-time standing record of nearly eight years which was $17.7 million set back in November 2016.
