The Colorado Buffaloes have another two-way player in their ranks this season, with Travis Hunter no longer the only such player on the team.
Hunter, a Heisman favorite for his remarkable exploits on both sides of the ball for Colorado, is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2025, though he is unlikely to be used at both WR and CB once he gets to the NFL.
In any case, he’s no longer the only two-way cog in the CU setup, with senior offensive lineman Tyler Brown now set to play on the defensive line against Texas Tech this Saturday.
While this sounds cool, it’s not a move Deion Sanders would have made if he had a choice. The Buffaloes have been dealing with injuries, with defensive end Dayon Hayes and defensive tackle Taurean Carter out for the season, and are doing this out of necessity.
Brown, formerly of Louisiana-Lafayette and Jackson State, played as an OL throughout college but has experience on the defensive line from high school.
He has also started a few games at right tackle and left guard for Colorado this season.

The Colorado Buffaloes Have Fit Tyler Brown Into A Rotational Scheme
The program has recently implemented a rotation at the offensive guard positions. So Brown isn’t on the field for every offensive play, enabling him to spend time on defense, too.
The player wore grey in practice all week, just like Hunter does. The Colorado Buffaloes’ offense usually wears black, while the defense wears white. Players who wear grey feature on both sides.
It will be interesting to see how the experiment works out, with the bowl-eligible Buffs now keen on a seventh win after also finding themselves in the Top 25 rankings.
They play the Red Raiders away from home at 5:00 p.m. ET tomorrow.
