Two of Bill Belichick’s former quarterbacks in New England couldn’t help but poke fun at his new relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.
Last month, TMZ reported that Bill Belichick is dating Hudson, a former competitive cheerleader. The outlet heard from one of Hudson’s former teammates that Belichick and Hudson met on a flight in 2021 and maintained contact before eventually beginning a romance.
Cam Newton and Mac Jones, the two main starting quarterbacks for the Patriots in the post-Tom Brady era, were caught joking about Belichick’s new romance during the ESPYs on Thursday.
Newton tells Jones that he doesn’t “approve” of Belichick’s relationship in a cheerful matter, and Jones (now with the Jacksonville Jaguars) laughs hysterically:
Newton was the Patriots’ starting quarterback in the 2020 season, signing late in the offseason following Brady’s move to Tampa Bay. He was re-signed in the 2021 offseason but released ahead of Week 1 after Jones won the starting job.
Newton returned to his old team, the QB-needy Carolina Panthers, in the midst of the 2021 season. Though the 2015 NFL MVP went unsigned in 2022 and 2023, he hasn’t officially announced his retirement.
Jones had three inconsistent years with the Patriots before losing his starting job to Bailey Zappe late last season. The Alabama product was traded to Jacksonville in March for a sixth-round draft pick.
Bill Belichick’s Relationship History
Belichick was previously married to Debby Clarke (1977 to 2006), and they had three children together: Amanda, Brian and Stephen. Their two sons worked with Belichick on New England’s coaching staff.
Bill Belichick began dating Linda Holliday following his divorce from Clarke. The two were together for 16 years before ending their romance last year.
Less than a year after his breakup from Holliday, Belichick and Hudson have become official. In fact, it was recently reported that the two have been living together for several months now.
