VIDEO: Lieutenant Dan Reveals Insane Details About How His Night Went After Braving Hurricane Milton In A Sailboat

Tampa resident Lieutenant Dan has become a bit of an internet sensation, and he’s since offered an update on the night he had on Wednesday after riding Hurricane Milton out on his sailboat.

Dan, whose real name is Joseph Malinowski, refused to leave the small vessel despite warnings from the authorities, choosing instead to spend the night out on the water while the weather system ravaged Florida.

Tampa Terrence, who revealed Lt. Dan to the world, caught up with him on Thursday morning to find out how his night went after he miraculously survived.

The sailboat resident claimed to have had a pretty good night once things calmed down heading into midnight.

“It was a little rough til about 11:30,” he explained in the video shown below. “I repositioned the boat, and I was heading into the wind. And I slept like a baby from 12 o’clock to about 5:30 this morning. 

“I woke up twice to pee, that was it.

Other than that, it’s been a great night. I just smoked half a joint, I’m high, I’m watching all the people running around like crazy because of all the water.”

“Water went up to here last night, it was over the f**king pole,” he continued, pointing to the rod on his boat. “Believe me, I got battered against the tide, but other than a couple of scuff marks on the side, my boat’s in better shape now than it was before because it got washed. 

“It’s a win-win all the way around.”

Lt. Dan also claimed to have learned that there are a lot of good people around, given all the help he was offered after he went viral.

America seemed happy to learn he was okay.
