This Colombian Rainbow River Boasts the Most Stunning Colors in the World

Colombia is a country full of natural wonders, from lush jungles to towering mountains, but one of its most unique attractions is Caño Cristales, also known as the “Rainbow River.” This natural wonder is located in the Sierra de la Macarena and is known for its vibrant colors that make it look like a river full of rainbows.

The Caño Cristales is a river that runs approximately 100 km through a remote part of the Serranía de la Macarena National Park. What makes it so special is the unique combination of water, rocks and algae that creates a spectrum of colors ranging from bright green to deep red. The river is only accessible during certain times of the year, usually June to December, when the water levels are correct and the sun is at the right angle for the colors to pop.
